Note: The ICD-10 Financial Risk Calculator is a FREE self assessment tool provided to the healthcare community by HIMSS to support ICD-10 efforts and help address financial risk.

Welcome to the HIMSS ICD-10 PlayBook Financial Risk Calculator. This 10-15 minute self-assessment helps providers determine their ICD-10 financial risk profile, identify the steps that they can take to mitigate that risk, and identify ways to augment their accounts receivable.

The self-assessment includes a survey that covers a wide range of financial topics including cash flow, revenue, and operational cost. The accuracy of your responses will determine the relevance of your results; it is important that you have a broad understanding of your organization's financial operations to complete the survey. A preview of the questions by type of organization is provided below. Because you cannot stop and return to the survey, you may want to review these questions before proceeding.

What to expect:

All information input into the calculator will remain completely anonymous. At the start of the survey, you will be asked to identify the type of organization that you represent. The choices include:

What you will receive:

At the end of the self-assessment, you will receive individual financial risk profile scores across revenue, operational cost, and cash flow. You will also receive relative risk profile scores so that you can compare your risk profiles to those of your peer group. For each profile score, you will receive specific mitigating steps that you can take to become more revenue-focused in your approach to ICD-10. With this information, you can start to take the next steps in addressing your financial risk and understanding the exact impact that ICD-10 will have on your revenues.

You will have the option to e-mail a copy of the report to yourself or another recipient. Please allow 2-3 business days to receive a copy of your report.
